Please follow these guidelines to prepare your top for machine quilting:

1. Keep quilt top, backing, and batting separate. Do not baste together.
2. Press top and backing well, remove loose threads.
3. Square the top and the backing fabric.
4. It is a good idea to stay stitch around the edge of your top, especially if it is pieced to the edge.
5. Borders should be flat. If not, this may cause tucks, pleats or fullness. Measure your quilt top before adding borders, then match the border length to the top. Don't just sew a long border on, and then cut it off. It will be too long and will ripple.
6. Backing and batting should be 3 to 4 inches larger on all sides than the quilt top.
7. All selvages should be removed from inside seams. Selvages may remain on outside seams.
8. You may purchase your batting from me, or provide your own.
9. 100 % cotton is recommended for backing
